Multilingual Lending Library
The Chattanooga School of Language lending library currently has more than 350 books that you can borrow. There are more than 70 graded readers for beginner and intermediate Spanish learners, and more than 50 illustrated books for children in Spanish. There is also a collection of French books and some German, Portuguese, and Chinese books. As we learn more about the language interests of our community we’ll work on adding more books in other languages.
The library is located at the Chattanooga School of Language in Chattanooga. The address is 4122 N Access Rd, Chattanooga TN 37415.
You can join now! A yearlong membership will always end in December of that year, regardless of when you sign up. Members can check out up to two books for up to three weeks at a time. If you are currently taking a class at the Chattanooga School of Language, you can check books in and out when you are on-site. If you aren’t a CSL student or you want to come at a different time, just send Paige an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Members can also use the self-check-in/check-out feature outside of the open library hours times. Please check before coming to check-out or return a book as the Chattanooga School of Language building is not always open.
You are eligible for a free membership if you’ve taken a class with Chattanooga School of Language in the past year. Former El Pueblo Spanish Camp families are eligible for free memberships in 2020 and 2021. For everyone else the cost is just $10 a year, which will help us to maintain and grow the library in the future.
How do I sign up?
If you’re a beginning or intermediate learner of a new language, we think graded readers are one of the best resources you can use to make progress. You’ll find more about graded readers in this blog.
